Pastor Rick Lincoln’s life is a testimony to God’s redemptive grace and sovereign calling. Raised in a Catholic home, Rick was exposed early to the language of faith, though for many years his life moved in a very different direction. By his own account, he spent much of his teenage year and young adulthood “running the streets,” pursuing a life marked by sin and self-direction. Yet even in that season, God was already at work. After the death of his parents at a young age he turned away from God.
Remarkably, Rick began serving at a small church is Saugus MA running sound for 2 years before he ever came to saving faith. It was there—faithfully showing up, learning to serve, and sitting under the preaching of the Word—that God began to soften his heart. Two years later, at the age of 28, God met Rick personally in the back of a church, where he surrendered his life fully to Jesus Christ. As Scripture says, “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).
Rick met his wonderful wife, Semra in 2011 at that very same church and married her in 2013, and together they are raising two children. Their family story reflects the power of the gospel to cross cultural and religious boundaries. While Rick was raised Catholic, his wife grew up in Germany and moved to the US. In 2010, she gave her life to Christ, embracing Jesus as Lord and Savior. Their marriage stands as a living witness to the truth that “there is salvation in no one else” (Acts 4:12) and that God is able to unite hearts through Christ.
Pastor Rick has served in ministry for over 15 years, faithfully laboring in various roles within the local church. Serving and leading several ministries over the years. He oversaw Men's Ministry, Rooted Young Adults and the Production Team. He was paramount in the installation of all of the tech at Great Rock Church during their building project in 2015-2017 where he integrated and installed all of the Audio Video Lighting and managed the IT infrastructure. He was also part of the early stages of GRCA a christian school located with Great Rock Church, where he was a Chapel teacher and taught Information Technology to middle and high school. He is a graduate of Great Rock Church School of Ministry and has been formally ordained as a pastor. Over time, God placed a clear and compelling burden on his heart to plant a church—one rooted in Scripture, centered on Christ, and committed to reaching the lost. As Rick often reflects, “How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed?” (Romans 10:14).
Today, God has called him and his family to church plant. Through the range of ministries he has overseen and served in, serving along side other pastors that have gone on to plant churches, the Lord had prepared him over the past 15 years. Pastor Rick leads with humility, conviction, and a deep reliance on the Word of God. His passion is to see lives transformed by the gospel, just as his own life was transformed. He remains grateful that God can use ordinary people with imperfect pasts for His glory, holding fast to the promise of Philippians 1:6: “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
